A little about me…
I’m an artist, a mom, and a breast cancer survivor. I love beautiful things, my happy place is in nature, and - I am so tired of HOT FLASHES!!!!

I’m not comfortable being a complainer but my reality feels extreme - visible sweating, dizziness, frizzy hair, sleeplessness. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer 6 years ago I was concerned for my health in general but I really didn’t understand the implications of the treatment beyond my physical appearance. I was put on Tamoxifen to prevent a recurrence of the cancer and immediately went into menopause. No period was great but the hot flashes were crazy and made me feel crazy!!! I had 24 a day! I exhausted every avenue my doctors and friends recommended (medications, bee pollen, acupuncture, meditation, etc), but nothing worked.

To deal with these hot flashes, I needed to find strategies to make them more tolerable. I leaned into my own creativity to find a solution. The coolness of natural stone has been a welcome relief during my hot flashes, whether it’s the marble in my kitchen or the boulders along a hiking trail, so popping my agate gemstone bracelet in the freezer before I put it on seemed like a genius idea. And it was! Putting the cold stone bracelet on the pressure point of my wrist was phenomenal - instant relief! I placed the bracelet on my neck, on my cheek, clutched it in my hand - all felt great! I couldn’t change the process happening in my body, but I did find the urgent respite I needed and I wanted to share this discovery with everyone!
